Welcome to the all-new Nambucca! We’ve kept the name and the spirit but everything else is new. Our massive stage is now at the back of the room so all in the venue can see what’s happening. There’s a totally new interior with murals of Lennon, Bowie, Cobain, Hendrix, Winehouse, Prince and more scattered around the venue, state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, new solid hardwood dancefloor. If you haven’t seen the new Nambucca yet, you won’t believe your eyes! By the end of 2015 we will have hosted The Wombats, Clarence Clarity, Fat White Family, John Power (Cast, The Las), Billy Lunn (The Subways), Adam Ficek (Babyshambles), DJ Vadim, Sundara Karma, The Enemy, The Rifles, Hackney Colliery Band, WWE legend XPac and much more. In the mid-part of the 2010’s Nambucca provided a platform for many of the forerunners of the London nu-folk scene, with artists such as Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling performing there regularly. Prior to that it also was a staple of the burgeoning indie-scene led by The Libertines and many successful bands performed early gigs there including Florence & The Machine, Maximo Park and The Holloways who were actually formed at the venue and played their first gig there. On October 31st 2014, after a massive refurbishment and a change of ownership, the bar reopened once again. Many long-running and successful events have now found a new home at the venue in its latest incarnation. Nambucca is now a warm and welcoming but professional 300-capacity music venue. We have a 30-channel Soundtrack Si-Compact mixing desk and state-of-the-art PA system. Backline is available for bands, promoters and for DJs we have CDJ and vinyl decks. We also have a lovely green room in the basement for artists to relax in prior to performances.
